The Bright Young things had it right; a Mantra of Mayfair and Moët..
Dalliancing from party-to-party in the West End, lost Flapper girls unveiled London's hedonistic heart. Caught in a fragrant milieu of 1920s melodies, they sipped upon couppettes brimming with golden bubbles and lingered into icons of the era.
Fast-forward to 2018 and legendary champagne brand, Moët & Chandon are putting on a party that even the most connected of twenties socialites wouldn't refuse. Moët are upping the ante and creating a champagne-tinted world that goes beyond the twilight-hours.
Opening with a soiree filled with starry faces, the 3-day activation includes a breakfast poetry-reading with Greta Bellamacina, a Sunday roast cooked by no other than Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton, live podcasts with Edith Bowman and the HighLow's Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes alongside champagne tastings with Ethan Boroian, Moët's Champagne Ambassador.
This fascinating melange of activity is all set within the hallowed walls of elegant Mayfair Townhouse, Thirty Eight Grosvenor Square. As the Moët Summer House, art-deco touches including a gilded bar and refined geometric forms meet contemporary-chic with breezy botanicals coating the exteriors and an installation of golden spheres cascading down the staircase. The house is a careful curation of timeless art forms such as poetry and philosophy with tech-based possibilities including culinary innovations and podcast recordings.
With happening taking place through several spaces across multiple floors including a secret basement fumoir, this is the place to dream of hedonistic pasts whilst gazing, listening and tasting future stories.
